SUPPORT: VoIP TROUBLE SHOOTING

There can be some call and /or call quality issues that can arise when using VoIP. Please note that some of these reasons are usually outside of gotalk’s control. Please click on the relevant issue below to find out how you can attempt to resolve this.

Echo (resolve here)
You have an echo on your phone if you are experiencing the following:
'I can hear my own voice echoing back to me. The person I’m calling remarked they can hear their own voice echoing back to them'.

Static On The Line (resolve here)
You have static on the line if you are experiencing the following:
'I have
a buzzing noise that is constantly present on my phone, even when not on an active call'.

Delayed Audio (resolve here)
You have delayed audio if you are experiencing any of the following:
'There is a delay in the flow of conversation.  I can hear my voice come through many seconds after I have finished speaking'. This can be experienced by both parties on the call.

'
While on a call my conversations are delayed, and there are long gaps between when I receive the other parties sentences and vice versa'.

Broken Audio (resolve here)
You have broken audio if you are experiencing the following:
'There are breaks in the conversation flow while I am talking on the phone. The conversation will cut in and out when either party is talking, so parts of the conversation are not received or heard'.

One Way Audio (resolve here)
You have one way audio if you are experiencing the following:
'The person I’m calling can hear me but I can't hear them, I just have dead air'.

Please note that this is typically only experienced from the gotalk customer’s side.

Can't Dial Certain Toll Free and Special Numbers (resolve here)
Certain toll free numbers cannot be called on gotalk’s VoIP service.

Can't Receive Calls From Certain Phone Carriers With My New Ported Number (resolve here)
'
I ported my phone number to gotalk now my friend can’t call my gotalk VoIP number from an OPTUS mobile or my friend can’t call my gotalk VoIP number from their AAPT landline'.
