| SUPPORT: VoIP - ONE WAY AUDIO |
One way audio is when the person making the call can be heard by the receiving party but no audio is returned to the caller. This is typically only experienced from the gotalk customer’s side.
Tips For Resolving One Way Audio
This is a common issue and is brought about by the need for the router to be port forwarded. A router will typically have a hardware firewall inbuilt. This firewall protects users against outside attacks. By default the ports used to make calls through a router are blocked in some routers and need to be opened. When these ports are opened this is referred to as “Port Forwarding”. To put it simply, you are telling your router to allow VoIP calls through the firewall.
